At dawn, Tala and Sora left the camp and went downstream. They followed the muddy riverbank and the broken plants beside it. Soon they found fresh dinosaur tracks near the water.
Sora looked at the prints and said they belonged to a herd of large plant-eating dinosaurs. The herd had packed down a narrow path, and it might be usable for people too. Then Tala spotted a cave opening above the river bank.
They climbed up and went inside. The cave had dry ground, and there were signs that humans had used it before. But they also found bat bones and a smell that showed animals lived there now. Tala decided it could become a hidden shelter if they could clear it.
When they headed back, they saw a predator waiting near the river crossing. They did not fight it. Instead, they returned to camp and warned the others that the route was dangerous.
